For us, climate responsibility doesn't begin with grand pronouncements, but with clear decisions. GeoFly approaches the issue the same way we work with data: transparently, clearly documented, and with a focus on impact. Our climate contribution is bound by verified standards and supports concrete renewable energy projects – so that our aspiration becomes a contribution that builds trust.
We work with geodata that visualizes landscapes, cities, and infrastructure. That's precisely why it's so important for us to make our own contribution transparent – not as a promise, but as a verifiable basis.
For GeoFly, 752 tons of CO₂ were accounted for according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol standard – Scope 1, 2, and 3 – and offset by the same amount through internationally verified climate protection projects. The certificates used come from projects certified according to the Gold Standard and VCS (Verified Carbon Standard). The issuance and retirement of the certificates are transparently recorded.
Specifically, GeoFly supports, among other things, climate protection projects in India: a combined solar photovoltaic project (VCS VER 1753) and a 46 MW wind power project in Karnataka (VCS 1771). Both projects aim to expand renewable energy and thus avoid emissions that would otherwise result from fossil fuel power generation.
GeoFly is thus participating in voluntary emissions trading and is visibly contributing to the realization of these projects.
