Aerial surveys for mining in detail

The collection and acquisition of terrain information is a cost-intensive factor in the mining and open-pit mining sectors. Aerial surveys offer a cost-effective and rapid way to generate geographic information, which then enables precise surveying work. The major advantage of aerial surveying lies in the non-contact data acquisition. Production does not need to be slowed down or interrupted, and even inaccessible areas can be surveyed.

Mine surveying places particular demands on flexibility and accuracy. To ensure the rapid processing of surveying data, aerial surveys can be conducted even in adverse weather conditions using state-of-the-art digital camera systems. This does not impair the ability to analyze data using a stereo model. Volume determinations and mass calculations are standard practice for us. Repeated aerial surveys allow us not only to document developments but also to visualize settlements and earth movements. Even 3D analyses are easily accomplished.

Selected examples of our work

Evers and Co. GmbH

Every year, we survey areas of 2–11 km² for Evers und Co. GmbH and create orthophotos, volume calculations and 3D analyses.

Lhoist Western Europe Rheinkalk

In January 2019, we surveyed 4 km² of Rheinkalk for Lhoist Western Europe using aerial photography and created orthophotos and 3D analyses.

Neumann Transporte + Sandgruben GmbH

In July 2019, we surveyed 3 km² for Neumann Transporte + Sandgruben GmbH and created orthophotos, 3D meshes and evaluations.
