Oblique aerial photographs/oblique images in detail
During our oblique aerial surveys, photogrammetric camera systems capture 5 synchronous images in nadir and oblique planes per event.
The flight plans are designed so that the oblique images are aligned with the four cardinal directions. If you don't have suitable software for viewing oblique images, we would be happy to provide you with a quote for our in-house oblique image viewer
ObViewSly. Oblique data for several reference cities is available here. For example, take a look at Stuttgart in oblique mode.
Oblique images are a welcome addition to many projects, as they provide even non-experts with a familiar view of the environment, thus offering better orientation. Furthermore, they can reveal additional information not visible in orthophotos, such as building facades, side views of bridges, or passageways.
The camera technology we use is an UltraCam Osprey 4.1.
