3D mesh in detail
The 3D mesh is created based on flight data from oblique or vertical aerial surveys. The derivation of the 3D mesh is fully automated, based on a pixel-sharp 3D point cloud.
The textures of the objects are taken from the oblique images.
The 3D mesh represents one possible form of a 3D city model. Further possibilities for representing a city model are offered by the object-based approach using building models with varying levels of detail. The degree of accuracy of the objects increases with each level: from LOD1 (untextured block models with flat roofs) to LOD4, i.e., highly detailed representations of buildings including doors, windows, and facade details. The 3D mesh is generated through a fully automated process chain, and the result exhibits a high level of detail and realism.
Another advantage of triangular meshing is evident in online presentation on websites or portals: due to the distance-dependent level of detail of the triangular meshing, the presentation remains fluid and performant.
The 3D mesh can be output as a file or as a web display, for example in our web service
OBVIEWSLY can be visualized. The 3D mesh, in combination with our online 3D viewer, provides our customers with a complete package that allows them to easily immerse themselves in 3D worlds.
