Digital aerial photography

Digital aerial photography provides high-resolution aerial images as a basis for geodata. It enables precise planning, 3D analysis, and diverse applications in urban planning, the environment, and energy.

Your advantages at a glance

  • Accurate flight planning
  • Aerial photography using high-resolution special cameras
  • Ground sample distance down to 2 cm
  • Measurement accuracy up to 5 cm (3D)
  • Color and infrared images

Potential applications of digital aerial photography

  • Urban and regional planning
  • Environmental and nature conservation (monitoring of forests, water, agriculture)
  • Energy and utilities sector (e.g. solar cadastre, route planning)
  • Documentation of open-cast mining and industrial areas
  • Recording of municipal tasks (sealed areas, double-entry bookkeeping)

Digital aerial photography in detail

1. Project preparation

Precise aerial survey planning is essential for every aerial survey project and guarantees a high standard of quality. Flight paths and image overlaps are determined individually for each project and adapted to the terrain.

2. Aerial photography

The flight is conducted using high-quality technical equipment. We utilize absolutely precise, high-performance cameras to generate our images. These guarantee high-resolution image data and its seamless processing. Digital aerial images have the advantage that multiple spectral ranges can be captured simultaneously during a single flight. This results in aerial images in grayscale (panchromatic), color (red-green-blue), and color infrared.

Within the framework of projects for the three-dimensional acquisition of objects, it is generally ensured that comprehensive stereoscopic measurement is possible. To this end, the flight parameters are adjusted accordingly in consultation with the client.

3. Evaluation and refinement

Each aerial survey is conducted in such a way as to allow for subsequent photogrammetric analysis. Our clients can choose whether to perform the analysis themselves or have us handle it. The results of aerial photogrammetry have a wide range of applications.

The following tasks can be solved using photogrammetric analysis:
  • Creation and maintenance of topographic maps
  • digital terrain models (DTM)
  • pixel-sharp digital surface models
  • 3D city models / 3D mesh
  • Inventory documentation in route planning
  • Mapping of sealed surfaces for wastewater fee splitting
  • Recording of municipal fixed assets (double-entry bookkeeping)

4. Technological equipment

Camera systems
We have our own high-performance camera systems from Vexcel Imaging, specifically the UltraCam Osprey 4.1 and two UltraCam Eagle Mark 3, which are permanently part of the company's own equipment and are available regardless of the project.

Airplanes
Our fleet consists of modern Diamond Aircraft DA62 MPP aircraft. These aircraft are characterized by high energy efficiency due to their low kerosene consumption.
